We occupy a 10 acre spread, 9 of which are left wild and heavily forested with countless pine, oak, cypress, wax myrtle, mock orange, magnolia, poplar and palm trees and home to a wide variety of wonderful creatures like deer, wild pigs, turkey, ducks, turtles, alligators, opossum, raccoons, coyotes, herons, bald eagles, hawks, vultures, kites, bobcats, and scores of smaller critters. The property borders 7,500 acres of protected land on one side and a 20-acre swamp on another, so we won't be seeing major development anytime soon.

We can't stop pollution, end global warming or repair the natural environment to a pristine state with our little operation, but somebody's gotta step up and we're off to a good start. If we all take a few small steps to be more energy efficient, we can make a big difference.
